​Russian TV channel employees test positive for coronavirus

Members of the Russian RT channel staff have been diagnosed with coronavirus.

A total of 162 employees of the TV channel passed the coronavirus tests, and 16 people tested positive for the virus, Report says citing RT.

RT is the first company to conduct coronavirus tests among its personnel.

Russia’s confirmed cases have hit 99,399, taking 8th place in the world in the number of infections. The country’s death toll stands at 972.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to 210 countries and territories since then.

To date, COVID-19 cases surpassed 3,149,000 globally, resulting in more than 962,000 recoveries and over 218,000 deaths.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
