​Azerbaijan extends special quarantine regime


Azerbaijan has extended the special quarantine regime until 00: 00 on May 31, 2020 based on the current sanitary and epidemiological situation in Azerbaijan due to a new type of coronavirus infection (COVID-19), preventive measures applied in other countries, as well as recommendations of the World Health Organization.

Report says, citing the Operative Headquarters of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Moreover, taking into account the rate of infection among the population and the dynamics of recovery of patients, the government decided to ease several restrictions.

Easing of restrictions is carried out in stages in the cities of Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, Lankaran, Absheron district and other regions, based on the current sanitary and epidemiological situation, the number of patients and the speed of infection spread

In this regard, from 00: 00 on May 4, 2020, in Baku, Sumgait, Ganja, Lankaran, and Absheron district:

the activity of employees of state institutions is restored in the established number (determined by the relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan);

DOST centers restore their operations to provide targeted state social assistance and Bank cards in the social sphere;

the activity of legal entities and individuals providing work and services to other business entities in various fields that are subject to restrictions during the special quarantine regime is resumed;

the activity of individual retail facilities in all areas is resumed;

hairdressers, beauty salons, and beauty services reopened.
