On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War on May 9, the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, and Deputy Ministers visited the monument to twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Major General Hazi Aslanov.

Azerbaijanis made great sacrifices both on the front line and the rear during the war. For their great courage, 43 Azerbaijanis were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. While 30 were awarded the Order of “Glory” in all three degrees.
