Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant increases cargo transportations via
Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) has been transporting railway cargos since 2018. In June 2018, ADY Express LLC, a subsidiary of the Azerbaijan Railways, for the first time, transported grain from Russia to Kars jointly with AzRusTrans CJSC, ADY Express Director Azad Gasimov.
According to him, ADY Express realized cooperation with Russia’s Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant in July 2018: “To date, BTK has transported nearly 56,000 tonnes of products of the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant. The Plant is planning to transport 24,000 more cargos via BTK.”
BTK was launched on October 30, 2017. The railway line provides a connection between the railway networks of Asia and Europe. This is the shortest way not only among the three countries but also between Asia and Europe. BTK reduces the time for cargo transportations by more than twice.
The railway line simplifies the access of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan to Europe and world markets. The 504 km-part of the BTK, which is 846 km in length, passes through Azerbaijan, 263 km through Georgia, and 79 km through Turkey.
This route is planned to carry 5 million tonnes of cargo in the first stage, 17 million tonnes in the next steps and larger volumes in the following stages.

Bu, təkcə 3 ölkə arasında deyil, həm də Asiya ilə Avropa arasında ən qısa yoldur. BTQ yüklərin daşınmasına sərf edilən vaxtı 2 dəfədən çox qısaltmağa imkan verir. BTQ dəmir yolu Mərkəzi Asiya ölkələrinin – Türkmənistan, Qazaxıstan, Özbəkistan, Qırğızıstan, Tacikistan və Əfqanıstanın Avropa və dünya bazarlarına çıxışını asanlaşdırır. Ümumi uzunluğu 846 kilometr olan BTQ-nin 504 kilometrlik hissəsi Azərbaycanın ərazisinə düşür. Dəmir yolu xəttinin 263 kilometri Gürcüstandan keçir. Yolun 79 kilometri isə Türkiyə ərazisindədir. Bu yol vasitəsilə birinci mərhələdə 5 milyon ton, ondan sonrakı mərhələdə 17 milyon ton, ondan sonra isə daha böyük həcmdə yüklərin daşınması nəzərdə tutulur.
