Augsburg FC manager fined for breaching quarantine

Augsburg head coach Heiko Herrlich will miss the Bundesliga restart after breaching quarantine rules, Report says, citing foreign press.

Heiko Herrlich said he had left the hotel briefly to buy toothpaste and skin cream at a nearby supermarket. “I had no toothpaste, and then I went to a supermarket,” he said, later adding in a statement: “I made a mistake by leaving the hotel.”

Teams are living in hotels during a seven-day quarantine and training period before they resume play. However, there are questions over just how closely some rules are being followed.

Notably, German Bundesliga will resume the season tomorrow.
