​Temporary Accommodation Center for Azerbaijanis inaugurated

The authorities of Dagestan have inaugurated a Center of Temporary Accommodation for Azerbaijani citizens, who were unable to leave Russia due to the coronavirus pandemic, Report says, citing TASS.

“In the Republic of Dagestan, on the border of the Magaramkent and Derbent districts, a temporary housing and food center has been opened for Azerbaijani citizens. The hospital has 15 tents for 210 people, as well as food tents.”

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation clarified that the temporary housing and food point provided with two field kitchens, water carriers with drinking and technical water. Moreover, there is a fire station and a medical aid point based on the Derbent district’s central district hospital.

When the coronavirus COVID-19 reached Russia, Azerbaijani citizens from different parts of this country flocked to the Dagestan border to return to their homeland.

About 700 Azerbaijani citizens cannot return home and are waiting in the Russian city of Derbent in Dagestan for the Russian-Azerbaijani border to open.
