​Thailand has no plans to open its borders for foreigners

Thailand does not yet plan to open its borders to foreign citizens, including those who live and work in the country, but turned out to be outside during the introduction of restrictive measures against the COVID-19 pandemic, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.

“On behalf of the people of Thailand, we want to say to all foreign citizens who want to visit our country or return here that we are very much waiting for you here after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it is impossible to predict when we can lift restrictive measures, including the ban on international passenger air transport. Everything will depend on the development of the epidemiological situation in Thailand and abroad,” Thailand Foreign Ministry stated. 

. The ban on international passenger air transport is in effect in Thailand until May 31. However, according to regional experts, this period can be extended to avoid a second wave of coronavirus infections.

Thailand has confirmed 3,025 COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic in Thailand, with 2,855 recoveries. The death toll in the country stands for 56 people, while 114 receive treatment in specialized hospitals.
