​Georgia reduces forecast on natural gas import from Azerbaijan

Georgia is forecasting to supply 2.57 billion cubic meters of natural gas from both imports and local sources in 2020, down 2.573 billion cubic meters from the previous forecast, Report informs, citing Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

According to the previous forecast, Georgia was planning to import 2.385 billion cubic meters of gas. Of this, 1.511 billion had to be imported from SOCAR, 874 million cubic meters – from Shah Deniz field.

According to the updated forecast, Georgia will import 2.348 billion cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijan, of which 1.465 billion will be supplied from SOCAR, 883 million cubic meters from Shah Deniz.

The neighboring country is now forecasting to import 200 million cubic meters of gas this year, while it had planned to buy 170 million cubic meters earlier.
