​Coronavirus: Georgia to ease restrictions from June

Georgia will relax COVID-19 restrictions from June 1.

The government will allow only outdoor restaurants to reopen, said Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, Report’s local bureau informs.

Large shopping centers are due to reopen from that date.

The country will also allow the operation of intercity transport from June 8, said the Prime Minister.

With few exceptions, Georgia will remain closed to foreign travelers until at least July 1.

Georgia has confirmed 735 COVID-19 cases so far, according to StopCoV.ge.

As many as 557 people have recovered from the disease, while 12 others died in the country.
