​Volume of gas transported via TANAP to reach 6 bcm late June

The volume of gas transported via the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) to Turkey will reach 6 billion cubic meters on June 30, the second anniversary of commercial operations, TANAP Director-General Saltuk Duzyol told Anadolu Agency, Report informs.

According to him, gas transportation to Turkey via TANAP is increased stage-by-stage. He said the pipeline transported 2 billion cubic meters of gas in the first year when the commercial transit commenced.

According to him, TANAP has reached a higher position than a project between two countries.

TANAP official also noted that 21.4 million cubic meters of gas were delivered to test the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP): “This volume can be increased depending on the depend.”

According to him, no delay has been recorded since TANAP started commercial operations: “The volume and tariffs are set within the 15-year gas transit contracts. Therefore, the global economic and social crisis does not cause any delay in our activity.”

The pipeline, which is part of the Southern Gas Corridor, originates from the Turkey-Georgia border and will connect to the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) in the Ipsala district of Edirne city.

The total length of the TANAP is 1,850 kilometers. The initial capacity of the TANAP pipeline is expected to be 16 billion cubic meters of gas per year. About six billion cubic meters of gas will be supplied to Turkey and the rest to Europe.
