Armenia: Opposition boycotts Parliament session
Prosperous Armenia faction boycotted the NA session today and left the session hall.
The PAP deputies left after the statement of the faction deputy Arman Abovian who particularly said, “I regret that the majority who came to power with the slogans of restoring democratic values is trying to silence the political opponents.”
He stressed that this path would take Armenia to a deadlock.
“The parliamentary majority is surely against the imposed unlawful voting, but we will fight for real democratic values and rights of each citizen in Armenia,” Abovian said, describing yesterday’s developments in the NA as political revenge toward the force and its leader who expressed disagreement.
Abovian also said that the international structures are strictly following the problematic processes against the PAP and its leader Gagik Tsarukyan.
“Taking into consideration the legal and political “mayhem,” the Prosperous Armenia faction boycotts the NA session and immediately leaves the session hall,” he said.
