MP: Azerbaijan is constantly increasing its military power
“The commissioning of new military units in Azerbaijan has already become a regular process, Deputy Chairman of Board of the Social Research Center, member of parliament Elshad Mirbashiroglu told Report.
According to him, this is a manifestation of the country’s strong military potential.
The political analyst recalled that 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s territory is under Armenian occupation.
“In such a situation, it is natural for Azerbaijan to increase its military power and constantly boost its defense system. Azerbaijan is working hard both at diplomatic and military levels to ensure its territorial integrity. The international community also supports a solution to the conflict only within the territorial integrity of our country. In parallel, Azerbaijan is expanding its military capabilities, which is based on the country’s economic potential,” Mirbashiroglu said.
The MP noted that the country is actively working on the commissioning of new military units and the reconstruction of military infrastructure.
“This is necessary, first of all, because Azerbaijan is in a state of war. Second, our diplomatic power is based on our military potential, without which we will not be able to ensure our diplomacy’s validity in the international arena. In this regard, Azerbaijan is moving towards its goals in many areas by consolidating its military power. We have always stated that if the talks fail, we will liberate our lands through military means. The opening of new military facilities is also an essential part of our position. Azerbaijan is constantly enhancing its defense capabilities, giving a message to both the occupier and other countries that it is able to liberate its lands from the occupation in any case.
Under the instructions of the Azerbaijani President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev related to the enhancement of combat readiness and improvement of the social conditions of the military personnel of the Armed Forces, recently, a new military unit was inaugurated.
Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and the Ministry’s leadership attended the opening ceremony and viewed the headquarters, the canteen, the medical point, the soldiers’ barracks, the car parking, the storages for weapons and ammunition of various purposes, as well as other infrastructure facilities.
The Minister of Defense, congratulating the families, noted the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s participation in the commissioning ceremony of apartments for permanent residence recently transferred for the use of service members in the Hovsan settlement and the opening of the Gobu Park-3 residential complex. He emphasized that the comprehensive steps undertaken in this sphere are a vivid example of the president’s attention and care towards the Azerbaijan Army. The Minister noted that the opening of this military unit is the next step undertaken to increase the Azerbaijani Army’s combat capability.
The Minister said that more than 250 service apartments were commissioned this year in different regions, in particular in several military units stationed in the frontline zone. By the end of this year, it is planned to complete the construction of about 200 service apartments.
During familiarization with the new building, it was noted that the five-story building consists of fully renovated three-room 60 apartments equipped with all communication lines.
The officers provided with apartments expressed their gratitude to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, and the Ministry’s leadership for their care.
