​Armenia to extend state of emergency by late this year

The Armenian government plans to extend the state of emergency declared to curb the spread of the pandemic., according to Hraparak daily.

“The third term of the state of emergency expires on July 14. However, according to some reports, Armenia will live under such a situation at least until December,” the newspaper reports.

According to the publication, the government intends to extend the state of emergency to prevent various opposition actions.

The country has declared a state of emergency since March 14.

Armenia has confirmed nearly 24,000 COVID-19 cases and over 400 related deaths.
