Russia’s daily COVID-19 death toll hits 168

Russia confirmed 6 632, new coronavirus infections, bringing the country’s official number of cases to 674 515, Report says, citing RIA Novosti. 

Over the past 24 hours, 168 people have died, bringing the total toll 10 027. In particular, 31 people died in Saint Petersburg, 25 in Moscow, and 18 in the Krasnoyarsk territory.

A total of 8 986 people recovered over the last 24 hours, so far, 437,893 have recovered from the virus in the country.

Moscow lifted restrictions including compulsory travel passes on June 8, a move welcomed by residents who rushed out to enjoy the streets and parks.

Many other regions lifted lockdown restrictions ahead of a July 1 national vote despite the pandemic. 

However, Russia’s aviation authority has extended its ban on international flights until Aug. 1 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
