Russia: Over 6.5 thousand contract COVID-19 per day
Russia confirmed 700 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s official number of cases to 6 562, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.
“Over the past 24 hours, there have been 6 562 confirmed COVID-19 cases in 84 regions, including active 1,812 (27.6%) without clinical manifestations,” the Operational Headquarters of the country said.
The death toll reached 10 66, with 173 fatal cases in a day.
So far, 472 511 have recovered from the virus- 8 631 of those in the last 24 hours.
Moscow lifted restrictions including compulsory travel passes on June 8, a move welcomed by residents who rushed out to enjoy the streets and parks.
Many other regions are lifting lockdown restrictions as Russia prepares to hold a July 1 national vote despite the pandemic.
President Vladimir Putin is seeking public backing for constitutional amendments that would allow him to stay on at the Kremlin beyond his current term.
