Armenia: COVID-19 cases exceed 32 thousand

As of July 13 in the morning, 32,151 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in Armenia. The number of infected in one day has grown by 182, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.

According to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 19,865 people have recovered, 11,530 are getting treatment.The total death toll reached 573, as eight other fell victim ti the virus.  Notably, Armenia reported its first coronavirus infection on March 1, in a citizen returning from neighboring Iran, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote on Facebook.

The 29-year-old, who arrived in the former Soviet nation on Friday, went to a doctor because he was not feeling well.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to over 200 countries and territories since then.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
