Fire breaks out at Azerikimya plant
A fire has occurred today on the territory of the ethylene-polyethylene plant of the Azerikimya Production Union of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR.
Ibrahim Ahmadov, deputy head of the Public Relations and Event Management Department of the Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR told Report that the incident was not recorded during the production process.
“Currently, production has been suspended due to a scheduled technical inspection. The last stage of modernization and reconstruction of the plant is underway. During the implementation of modernization and reconstruction works by contractor companies, a short circuit occurred, the fire was quickly extinguished, ” – he said.
According to him, several employees were injured during the incident.
