Russia: 119 die with coronavirus per day

Russia confirmed 5, 241 new COVID-19 cases in a day, bringing the country’s official number to 877 135, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.

According to the Operational Headquarters, Russia’s  death toll reached 14,725, as 119 others have died over the past day.

As many as 7 235 coronavirus patients were discharged from Russian hospitals in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 683 592.

Moscow lifted restrictions including compulsory travel passes on June 8, a move welcomed by residents who rushed out to enjoy the streets and parks. Many other regions lifted lockdown restrictions ahead of a July 1 national vote despite the pandemic. 

However, Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsia, has extended Russia’s ban on international flights until Aug. 1 due to the coronavirus.
