Azerbaijani becomes VimpelCom president | Report.az

The Board of Directors of Russian mobile operator VimpelCom (Beeline brand) elected Rashid Ismailov, Former Deputy Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, as the company’s president August 17, Report says, citing TASS.

Rashid Ismailov has signed a three-year contract until August 2023.

“According to the decision of the board of directors, as of August 17, 2020, Rashid Ismailov was appointed president of the company. Alexander Krupnov, who earlier held the position, moves to the post of president’s advisor,” the company said.

Ismailov was working at the ministry from 2013 till 2018.

VimpelCom’s charter understands the president as responsible for the management of the provision of connection services for certain state authorities. The changes will not impact the company’s current operating activities or the goals set for the general director.

General Director Alexander Torbakhov will remain in charge of operating activities.
