First smartphone with hidden selfie camera launched
Chinese company ZTE has officially introduced a new product – ZTE Axon 20 5G, Report says, referring to RIA Novosti.
The device’s main feature is a front camera under the screen – the first that has not yet been seen in this industry.
Specialists of the manufacturer have developed an invisible camera matrix when working with a smartphone.
The smartphone’s display is a 6.92-inch OLED panel with 2460×1080 pixels, which can be updated at 90Hz. Despite the large screen and the introduction of new technologies, the phone is relatively compact: it weighs 198 g and is only 7.98 mm thick. It has a 30 W power socket that must fully charge 4 220 mAh battery per hour.
This technology’s development took two years since to place the front camera under the screen needed new matrices, materials, smart control chips, and software. Thanks to the combination of organic and inorganic films, the matrix area becomes transparent, increasing the amount of light falling on the front.
The smartphone will go on sale in China from September 10 in three configurations – 6/128, 8/128, and 8/256 GB. The base version will sell for 2,200 yuan ($ 322.6). ZTE has not yet announced when it will enter the international market.
