Georgia to strengthen border protection

“In 2020, Georgia took special steps to develop border infrastructure, provide it with modern equipment, strengthen aviation capabilities, and deepen international cooperation,” Georgian Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri said as he spoke during a ‘ministerial hour’ in parliament.

The construction of a new border post on the territory of the David Gareja Monastery (Kechikchidagh – ed.) on the border with Azerbaijan will be completed in the near future.

Gomelauri noted that Georgia plans to strengthen its border protection capabilities in 2021.
