India’s COVID tally nears 20 million

India recorded 368,147 cases of coronavirus infection over the past day, bringing the country’s total case count to 19,925,604, Report informs with reference to the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Over the past day, 3,417 Indians died due to COVID-related health complications.

As of today, India’s coronavirus death toll is 218,959.

The country’s daily incidence has been declining slightly over the past two days. On May 1, the country saw 401,993 new cases of coronavirus infection, which was the highest surge in incidence recorded to date.

Over the past day, 300,732 Indians managed to beat the deadly pathogen and recovered from the disease. As of today, 16,293,003 have already recovered from COVID-19.

Currently, there are 3,413,642 people are undergoing treatment for COVID in India, which is 63,998 people more than the day before.
