Bulgaria to extend coronavirus emergency

The Bulgarian government intends to prolong the state of emergency until the end of June as part of restrictions to curb COVID-19, said the country’s chief health inspector Angel Kunchev.

Report informs, citing BTV, that the decision is expected to be made next week.

At the same time, the procedure for vaccination of the population without pre-registration will be extended. So far, 1,113,000 people have been vaccinated in the country, and over 413,000 have received the second dose.

Earlier, the state of emergency in Bulgaria was extended until the end of May, but the country lifted several restrictions. From May 1, the summer season in tourism has opened, and foreigners can visit the country.
