Armenia in talks over flights via Turkey

Talks are underway over the reopening of Turkish airspace for Armenian airlines, deputy director and director on commercial affairs of the Armenia Airlines Gevork Khachatryan said at a news conference.

Report informs, citing Novosti Armenia, that Armenian airplanes had been flying via Turkey for six years before Turkey closed its airspace for planes registered in Armenia on September 9, 2020.

“Last time we appealed to Turkey in March of this year, and they denied our appeal. Today we do not fly over Turkey. However, we are in talks in this direction, and there is some progress.”

Khachartyan voiced hope for the soonest resolution of this issue.
