Mine agency chief raps Armenia for failure to provide Azerbaijan with minefield maps

A delegation from the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) has held a meeting at the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), Report informs.

The guests, who met with ANAMA Chairman Vugar Suleymanov to discuss the fact-finding mission to the liberated territories of Azerbaijan to monitor acts of vandalism against historical and cultural monuments, have had expanded discussions on the demining of the liberated territories.

The chairman of ANAMA drew attention to the serious threats to human life and health as a result of Armenia’s failure to provide minefield maps.

The meeting heard that despite the fact that a long time has passed since the signing of the November 10, 2020 trilateral statement, Armenia’s failure to provide minefield maps hinders the implementation of state-important projects in the liberated territories.

As part of the fact-finding mission, the delegation will visit the liberated areas, the report added.
