Media: Georgian PM to resign

“Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili is expected to resign after the second round of the municipal elections,” Report informs, citing Mtavari Arkhi TV channel.
According to the channel, Garibashvili is accused of the ruling Georgian Dream Party’s failure in the municipal elections in major cities, the appointment of the second round of elections in Tbilisi, and Mikheil Saakashvili’s visit to Georgia.

The municipal elections in Georgia were held on October 2. According to the results, the second round of elections will be held in 20 cities, including Tbilisi. The second round is expected to be held on October 30.

Last week, Georgia’s Pirveli TV channel also reported that the prime minister would resign, citing a reliable source. The Georgian Dream Party called the reports baseless.
