SOCAR president attends oil-gas exhibition and conference in Abu Dhabi

A delegation led by State Oil Company (SOCAR) President Rovnag Abdullayev visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on November 15-18, Report informs, citing the company.

As part of the visit, the SOCAR president took part in a round-table organized by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), which was attended by executive directors of over 30 leading energy companies in the world, as well as in the International Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) in Abu Dhabi.

The round-table was opened by the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies, ADNOC Managing Director Sultan Ahmed Al-Jaber. The roundtable’s agenda focused on addressing the production gap and the opportunities companies face during the energy transition.

The participants discussed the impact of cuts in investments in the hydrocarbon sector on energy production in the short and medium-term, exchanged views on the role of the extractive and processing industries in the fight against climate change, innovations.

On November 15, the SOCAR delegation attended the opening ceremony of the ADIPEC exhibition conference and conference sessions, within which a number of bilateral meetings were held.
