Manager of 1033 nightclub arrested in Baku

Police have revealed violations of the quarantine mode at 1033 nightclub in Baku’s Yasamal district, Report informs, citing the press service of the Interior Ministry.

During the police check at the club, it was found that the presence of a COVID-19 passport was not checked for visitors to the nightclub, the distance between the tables was not observed and hookah was offered to customers.

The manager of the nightclub, former convict Mehti Abbasov, and the club’s staff was detained.

The Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime under the Interior Ministry initiated a criminal case under Article 139-1.1 (violation of anti-epidemic, sanitary, and hygienic or quarantine modes) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

By a court decision, Mehti Abbasov was arrested for three months. Currently, operational investigative measures into the case are continuing.
