Turkmenistan applies for WTO membership

Turkmenistan has applied for membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Report informs that WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala announced this on Twitter on Thursday.

“Turkmenistan deposits its application to begin the accession process to join the WTO. With Turkmenistan Ambassador H. E. Mr. Atageldi Haljanov,” she wrote, posting a photo with Haljanov.

Turkmenistan received observer status at the WTO on July 22, 2020.
