Azerbaijani foreign minister, US Assistant Secretary of State speak on the phone

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov had a telephone conversation with US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried.

Report has learnt from the Foreign Ministry that the parties exchanged views on the current situation in the region, including on the current state of negotiations on the normalization of post-conflict relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Karen Donfried regarded the transfer by Azerbaijan of 10 servicemen of Armenian origin to Yerevan, as well as the provision of mine maps by Armenia to Azerbaijan as a positive step and progress towards the normalization of relations.

During the telephone conversation, the parties also discussed some issues on the agenda of bilateral cooperation, as well as other topics of mutual interest.
