Fourth wave of coronavirus underway in South Africa


“The fourth wave of coronavirus has started in South Africa,” citing foreign media, Report informs that President Cyril Ramaphosa, who called on all citizens to get jabs immediately, said.

Noting the prevalence of the omicron strain in the country now, the president called on citizens to wear masks, observe social distance and minimize contact with outsiders.

Last week, daily coronavirus infections in the country increased fivefold. Two weeks ago, 2% of the tests were positive, but now this figure is close to a quarter.
