Expert: AZN300,000 collected monthly from illegal parking in Baku

“There are over 600 illegal parking supervisors in Baku. All of a sudden, they have disappeared. Over the last two days, one cannot come across them on streets and avenues of the capital. They are controlled by certain forces and were told not to come to the illegal parking lots,” transport expert Elmaddin Muradli told Report.

The State Traffic Police has recently launched raids in Baku over illegal parking.

In addition, a draft amendment to the Law on Road Traffic has been prepared. The bill envisages increasing fines for illegal parking. In addition, those who organize illegal parking would be fined.

The bill was discussed at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and State Building on January 25 and recommended to the plenary session of the spring session of parliament.
