Crime in “communism” in Azerbaijan – Officials sentenced

A criminal case has been opened against the farm manager and veterinarian of the Ivanovka village collective farm named after Nikitin, the only collective farm in Azerbaijan located in the Ismayilli region.

The case of Timofey Uryupin, born in 1957, and veterinarian Cahid Ismayilov, head of the collective farm, was sent to the Sheki Court of Grave Crimes under Articles 179.3.2 (embezzlement or waste) and 313 (forgery) of the Criminal Code.

The investigation revealed that T. Uryupin, who headed the collective farm’s sheep farm in 2011-2021, together with Jahid, a veterinarian who has worked on the farm since 1987, sold hundreds of sheep documenting their deaths. Thus, it was revealed that they documented the death of a total of 530 small horned animals due to the disease, and it was determined that they caused a total of 63,000 manat damage to the collective farm.

The management of the Nikitin collective farm appealed to law enforcement agencies after seeing the rapid decline of sheep on the farm. As a result of the investigation conducted by the Ismayilli District Prosecutor’s Office, it was proved that 530 sheep were documented and seized, including untrue diagnoses of deaths from hepatitis, pneumonia and gastroenteritis in 2020-2021.

The case was heard in the Sheki Court of Grave Crimes.

The court was told that these people would pay for the damage caused to the collective farm.

T.Uryupin, who headed the farm for ten years, was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months, and J.Ismayilov to 2 years probation. (Qafqazinfo)
