Azerbaijan sends amphibious aircraft to Turkey

Forest fires continue in the Mugla region of Turkey. In accordance with the direct instructions of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to participate in the firefighting, the amphibious aircraft BE-200CS belonging to the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Azerbaijan with a crew of 10 departs for Dalaman Airport in Mugla region.

Speaking to journalists at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Major General Ashraf Gasimov, Chief of the Aviation Detachment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, said that the plane took part in extinguishing the fire in Turkey last year:

“This is the most effective aircraft in extinguishing fires. The aircraft has a capacity of 12 tons of water in 18-20 seconds without standing on the water. Taking the water, he goes to the fire area. From the day of the plane, the sister country will take part in extinguishing fires in Turkey.

It should be noted that forest fires started on June 21 in the Marmaris region of Mugla province, Turkey. According to the latest information, a total of 598 vehicles, including 253 fire engines and 26 water tankers, were involved in extinguishing the fire. Also, 27 helicopters, 14 planes and 2,604 personnel are involved in the firefighting operation.
