Russia Bulgaria expels 14 consular and embassy employees. This is Sofia’s step Russia it is said to have been fired in response to the “unfounded” decision to expel diplomatic personnel. All this is happening against the background of Moscow’s unjustified aggression against Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia said in a statement on August 5 that Bulgaria ambassador Atanas Christineand was presented with a note declaring 14 workers in Russia persona non grata.
Since Moscow began aggression against Ukraine at the end of February, a number of European countries have expelled Russian diplomats.
Bulgaria said at the end of June that it was expelling 70 Russian diplomats and closing the Russian Consulate General in the northern city of Ruse.
