“Armeni told Elmira that we captured yours, we are keeping them in Hadrut…” – MISSING – WRITES VUSALA MAMMADOVA |

In Pressklub.az’s “Missing” project, this time we will present the story of a family living in Saatli. Mureddin Rahimov, a family member, tells the story:

First, let me tell you about my family. My father, Rahimov Sadri Rahim, was born in 1933, and my mother, Rahimova Safiya Mulazim, was born in 1936 in the village of Kheveshen, Adigun district, Georgia. My father lost his father in World War II. Both my parents were deported by Stalin on November 14, 1944. Like tens of thousands of Ahiska Turks, they are from their homes mandatory were taken out and deported to Central Asia with wagons intended for cattle. My parents got married in Uzbekistan in 1958 and in 1960 To Azerbaijan, they moved to Garayevkend village of Saatli district. Now this village It is called Orta Mughan. We were born and raised here in Azerbaijan, there were six brothers and five sisters in our family…

Now let me talk about Fahlul. After me, my brother Fahlul, who was born in 1966, is the fourth child of our family military he finished his service in the ranks of the Soviet Army in Chita province and returned. Then the war started, it was August or July 1993, a draft was sent to the army, they were called to the front. What do you say? My father said that we live here, this is our homeland, they have called us, one of you must go. It fell to Fahlul’s fate, he went…

Fahlul Rahimov

If you want me to describe my brother… Fahlul was a very quiet and modest person. Susu worked in the collective farm. Decree He had a one-and-a-half-year-old son, and the birth of his second child was only three or four months away… That’s it! What else can I say…

It was only three months that he went to war… We only knew for sure that theirs military part is located in the vocational school in Zangilan district. During this period, he did not come home and did not communicate by phone. Did he write a letter…? I don’t remember… It was a conversation in 1993, it’s hard to remember the details… You know, from our family news It would be more correct to say that the milk I sucked from my mother came from my nose to buy…

But what happened to our family? After three months, our family decided to go to Fahlul. We preferred to go with our own car. It was difficult for him to sit behind the wheel because my father had a heart attack, and my older brother, Musaddin, born in 1963, had to drive the car. Musaddin in the collective farm driver he worked, was married, had two sons and a daughter…

Musaddin Rahimov

When my mother and father were getting ready for the trip, my 13-year-old brother, our beloved son Vagif, came back saying that I will come with you! My father said, come on, we will go and come back in our own car anyway. At that time it was relatively calm, there was no fear of fire or bullets…

Vagif Rahimov

On October 23, they left the house early in the morning, around 5-6 o’clock. Away, 9-10 they were already with my brother. They were going to return in the evening, but they didn’t come. District the police I applied to the department… A few days passed, I applied again, saying that my family members had gone to the frontline and were gone for several days… This time news it didn’t happen.

On October 29, it was said that Armenians occupied Zangila, the population was forced to leave the city and crossed the Araz river to Iran. Our anxiety increased and I decided to follow my father… But where to go? They went to Zangilan and already Zangilan was occupied…

I turned to Iran. 3-4 days customs I spent the night at the checkpoint. There I saw that the people of Zangilan were from Iran To Azerbaijan comes… Finally, Iran they allowed me to cross their territory. We were going by bus to the place where the people of Dengilinan crossed Araz, when I saw our soldiers on the road. I stopped the bus and got down. I asked, do you serve in Zangilan? He said, yes… I said that my brother also works there, maybe you can see it by chance… He asked his name, I said Fahlul… He answered that “Fahlul and I were sleeping on the bed together. In those days, his parents and two brothers came to him, they brought food, we also ate, and then his father put money in our pockets… Then Fahlula received a 5-day permit from the commander. Around 1 in the afternoon, we sent them off.” That’s it… This is where my father’s story ends, and my sad story begins, where I search for them day and night for years.

I learned that when my father took Fahlul with them Fuzuli They were taken hostage with their “VAZ 2106” cars numbered 58-54 AQJ in the Horadiz settlement of the district… At that time, Armenians stopped on that road and took how many cars as hostages. They said that the car was taken as a mixed hostage. But there was no help from any institution, I was looking for it alone…

I haven’t spent the night in my house for two years. My life was spent in the frontline, in negotiations… I met, talked and received information with those who had returned from captivity. I used to show pictures of my family members and ask “have you seen such a person”… I would find out from them who I could get information about hostages, get their numbers, go to Russia, make phone calls from Dagestan…

Elmira Aghayan

There was Elmira Aghayan, deputy chief of staff of Khankendi… “We have your people,” he said. “We keep a private house in Hadrut district. In Edilli village of Hadrut… The red car we took as a hostage is also there, as well as the family members…”

Albert Voskanyan

Captured and I also found the number of Albert Voskanian, who actively participated in the exchange of hostages, and made contact. And he said that we don’t have your people. I’m not afraid of you, I’ll tell you over the phone… In other words, Albert directly said that we don’t have your family…

Tagiyev from Beylagan Mohammed I also met with Gachay oglu. They called him Mamed. Mamed captive and entered into direct negotiations with the Armenians regarding the exchange of hostages. I was even with him once when he contacted an Armenian policeman named Abo via walkie-talkie. I heard with my ears, Abo said, “We investigated the people you mentioned, we don’t have that family”…

In short, no one but Elmira confirmed that our family was being held hostage. He did not continue his words either… As soon as I received an answer from him, I immediately applied to the State Commission. They said there is no problem, we have Armenian prisoners, we will exchange them.

I went to Dagestan again and called Elmira Aghayan that we agree, instead we are Armenians captive we will give But Elmira made no promises. And later from him news It didn’t come out… He didn’t even say that he would exchange it for money. I spoke with him 3-4 times… All these are conversations from 1994-1995…

I have tried to use every possible and non-existent opportunity to hear from my family. It was not good. To this day, no institution has opened my door. Neither from the Ministry of Defense nor Execution From his authority. A representative from “Zaman” newspaper came, took our picture and published an article in the newspaper. A film was made once. They called me to the movie studio, I explained the incident in detail. It was 1996 or 1997. But I don’t remember who drew them. I don’t even know where the film was shown… Once, 5-6 years ago, a woman from the Red Cross came… No one else was interested in this case…

While other missing civilians were given the status of martyrs, my parents and two brothers were not. Only Fahlula martyr I got the status… And with great difficulty. After Fahlul’s disappearance, a daughter was born, we named her Güler… We raised her children, married her son, moved her daughter… I gave all the pictures left from them to government agencies, certain organizations, here and there in the search… But what’s the use? Believe me, I came and went until the number of my hair, I did not get any positive answer… To this day, there is no news about the fate of my family members…

Note: The materials of the State Commission on captured and missing citizens, hostages were used.
