EU says Nord Stream pipeline leaks ‘deliberate’ |

Podoliak accused Russia of trying to “disrupt the economic situation in Europe and create pre-winter panic”

European Union (EU) believes that two Russia– German submarine gas leaks from the belt are not “accidental”, there are signs that they were “deliberately” committed. This is the head of foreign policy of the bloc Joseph Borrel he said on September 28.

Borrel, who expressed “deep concern” about the leaks in the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines, called for an investigation. According to him, “everything is possible information shows that these leaks are the result of a deliberate act.”

Before these statements, seismologists from Sweden and Denmark reported that strong explosions were recorded near the places where evidence of leakage was detected. The Swedish police have started an investigation into possible sabotage.

Borrel said that any targeted intervention in Europe’s energy infrastructure is completely unacceptable, and it will be met with a “resolute and joint response”.

The spokesman of the Swedish police said that “report prepared and crime classified as major sabotage”.

The leaks come amid concerns about a growing energy crisis. Western countries refuse energy supplies from Russia in response to Moscow’s unprovoked attack on Ukraine.
