Iran says it has successfully tested a satellite launch vehicle

Iran Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) three-stage Ghaem-100 has successfully tested the first suborbital stage of the satellite carrier. The lRNA state about it news agency reported.

According to “Fars” agency, the three-stage solid propellant rocket is capable of launching satellites weighing 80 kilograms into low Earth orbit.

The information also emphasizes that in the near future, the ICRC plans to launch the “Nahid” (“Venus”) telecommunication satellite into space using a new rocket.

Iran actively develops space and rocket programs, launching several satellites into space and sending a monkey on a suborbital flight to bring it back to Earth.

Iran insists its program is peaceful, but many Western countries suspect Tehran of developing intercontinental ballistic missiles.

USA and Iran considers the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist organization.

The missile test took place against the background of months of protests in the country. Human rights organizations say that at least 300 people have died during the protests and their crackdown.
