THE HAGUE, February 7 (Reuters) – The Netherlands, Denmark and Germany Ukraine for 100 are buying Leopard-1A5 main battle tanks, the Dutch government said on Tuesday.
The Netherlands Ministry of Defence said in his statement that the tanks will be purchased “directly from the German industry”.
Dutch NOS national Dutch Defense Minister Kasja Ollongen said in an interview on TV that the tanks, which are of a slightly older model, “can definitely still be used” to fight in Ukraine.
“This is a tested tank, and as they are tuned and ready for combat, they will definitely be useful for the Ukrainians,” he said.
