The next trial was held on the criminal case of Dunyamin Khalilov and Azad Javadov, who were accused of committing a crime in collaboration with the officials of “International Bank of Azerbaijan” OJSC.
The indictment was read at the session chaired by judge Ali Mammadov at the Baku Serious Crimes Court.
According to the indictment, Dunyamin Khalilov and Azad Javadov caused a total of 6 million 500 thousand manat damage to “International Bank of Azerbaijan” OJSC.
The accused pleaded not guilty.
“Agrarkredit” OJSC, which is known as the victim in the case, filed a civil claim of 17 million manats in the case.
The court accepted the civil claim.
The trial will continue on October 16.
It should be noted that based on the evidence gathered in the case, Dunyamin Khalilov and Azad Javadova were charged with articles 179.3.1 and 179.3.2 of the Criminal Code (embezzlement by an organized gang).
It should be noted that during the investigation of the criminal case conducted by the Chief Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General, Dunyamin Khalilov and Azad Javadov formed a stable criminal group and headed it together with the former executives of “International Bank of Azerbaijan” OJSC during the years 2001-2015. General Construction” and “Baku Hazelnut Processing Enterprise” limited liability company’s employees have been found to have embezzled over 6,642,000 manats of money issued in their name by carrying out the illegal instructions given by the official of the bank regarding the formalization of loans and sending those persons to various branches of the bank.
Before that, two court verdicts against Dunyamin Khalilov are in force.
In July 2017, the former deputy of the Milli Majlis, Dunyamin Khalilov, was sentenced to 13 years in prison after being accused of taking a loan from “International Bank of Azerbaijan” OJSC and not repaying it.
Later, in September 2019, the Baku Court of Serious Crimes, presided over by judge Faig Ganiyev, sentenced Jahangir Hajiyev, Dunyamin Khalilov and others, who were accused of embezzlement.
In this case, Dunyamin Khalilov was sentenced to 14 years and 6 months in prison by the court’s verdict.
