“The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) deals with the case of many missing persons and participates in this process as a neutral”.

Report informs that Florence Anselmo, head of the ICRC’s Central Agency for Tracing and Restoring Family Relations, said this during her speech at the international conference on “Increasing national and international efforts to clarify the fate of missing persons” held in Baku.

He thanked the government of Azerbaijan for hosting this event.

According to him, representatives of a number of countries with the necessary experience are participating in this matter.

Florence Anselmo noted the importance of the participation of the family members of the missing persons in the search.

“We must remember that families who are still unaware of the fate of their loved ones are behind every such incident,” said the representative of the ICRC, stressing that the issue of searching for missing persons should not be politicized.
