“The negotiations between Iran and Russia are permanent, and even the coronavirus could not prevent us. We are seriously promoting our relations, our presidents and the co-chairs of intergovernmental commissions achieved good agreements. We hope that this will benefit our people,” the Russian Bureau of Report quotes Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

“As for the regional list, we have very close cooperation., We have the Astana format on Syria that could pull the country out of a hazardous situation. Iran, Russia, and Turkey are committed to this process. International cooperation is necessary at this point. Humanitarian aid must be provided.”

“The basis of our policy complies with international law, which is principle completely forgotten by Americans. International law does not make any sense for the new regime in the United States. Unfortunately, the withdrawal from international norms and rules has become a certain tendency,” Zarif said.

“We will continue to co-chair the intergovernmental Commission. The meetings will take place as conditions permit. We will host the Astana summit first in a virtual format, and then in person. I received the consent of the foreign ministers of both Russia and Turkey to hold a virtual meeting. The leaders of the three countries will have an online session, and as conditions allow, we will hold a face-to-face meeting.

“We are planning to hold a summit between Iran, Russia, and Azerbaijan soon,” the Iranian Foreign Minister concluded.
