The powers of the Minister of Culture has been handed over to the Deputy Minister.
Thus, First Deputy Minister Vagif Aliyev will perform the duties of the minister, Report says.
On February 18, 2011, Aliyev was appointed Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism. Since May 18, 2018, Aliyev has been holding the post of First Deputy Minister of Culture.
On May 21, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on dismissing Minister of Culture Abulfas Garayev.
