​Iran’s COVID-19 deaths hit 10,000

As of June 25, 2,595, new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed in Iran, bringing the total number to 215,096, according to the country’s Health Ministry.

A total of 175,103 patients have recovered and discharged so far. In the past 24 hours, 134 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, and the death toll stands at 10,130.

So far, more than 1.53 million tests have been conducted in Iran for the diagnosis of coronavirus.

In Iran, one of the countries in the Middle East was hardest hit by the virus that first detected COVID-19 in the city of Qom on February 19.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to more than 200 countries and territories since then.

To date, COVID-19 cases surpassed 9,552,000 globally, resulting in more than 5,192,000 recoveries and over 485,000 deaths.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
