Belarus thanks Azerbaijan for support in COVID-19 fight

Azerbaijan and Belarus can be a role model in terms of deepening economic ties during the novel coronavirus pandemic, Oleg Makarov, Director of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research, said at a webinar “Azerbaijan-Belarus relations in the post-pandemic period.”

“Our relations are characterized by complementarity and mutual benefit. At a time when world markets are in decline, Azerbaijan and Belarus can serve as an example. We have more advantages than risks,” he said.

The political scientist also expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani leadership for the support provided to Belarus to combat coronavirus.

“Despite the geographical distances, our countries are too close. In this regard, personal initiatives and relations of the presidents are noteworthy,” he added.
