​Russia, Turkey mull resumption of flights

Russia and Turkey have held discussions to resume flights between the two countries, said Alexei Yerkhov, the Russian Ambassador to Ankara.

According to him, relevant agencies of the two countries are in constant contact in this regard, Report says citing RIA Novosti.

“They have already developed a system for safe tourism, and airports and tourist facilities have done great work to ensure it,” said the Ambassador.

Russia is the third worst-hit COVID-19 country with over 620,000 cases, while Turkey has confirmed more than 190,000 infections.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to more than 200 countries and territories since then.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
