Armenia’s COVID-19 cases hit 26,000

Armenian health authorities have reported 523 new cases of Covid-19 over the last 24 hours bringing the total number to 26,065 as of July 1.

The country’s death toll increased by 10 to 453.

According to the Health Ministry, a total of 113,665 tests for coronavirus have been performed. Some 453 people have died from COVID-19, while 14,563 others have recovered. The treatment of 10,900 patients is underway.

Yesterday at the briefing of the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev stressed that the Armenian leadership is covering up the real COVID-19-related figures.

“Today Armenia is in a dire situation because of the negligent policy pursued by the country’s leadership. They are hiding the coronavirus figures from their citizens,” he said.

“While begging for help, they oppose the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev to convene a special session of the UN General Assembly. In this way, Armenia is revealing its true nature,” Hajiyev stressed.
