MEPs condemn Armenia’s military provocation on border with Azerbaijan

On July 21, members of the European Parliament and Milli Majliat met through video conferencing at the initiative of the co-chairman of the European Union-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee Javanshir Feyziyev, Report says, citing Media and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis.

Latvian MEP Andris Ameriks, Polish MP Richard Czarnezski, Bulgarian MP Ilhan Kyuchyuk, Croatian MP Ruža Tomašić, and Spanish MP Hermann Tertsch, co-chair of Parliamentary Cooperation Committee Javanshir Feyziyev t head of the delegation to the Euronest PA Azar Kerimli and head of the Azerbaijani Community of Nagorno-Karabakh Tural Ganjaliev attended a video conference. 

Javanshir Feyziyev, who opened the meeting, provided detailed information to the conference participants on the Armenian military’s provocation on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border on July 12 and its consequences. The MP said Armenia’s goal is to slow down the negotiation process, prolong the status quo, populate illegally occupied Azerbaijani territories, involve the CSTO member states in the conflict, and to undermine the relations between Azerbaijan and the CSTO member states.

MEPs strongly condemned the provocative action by the Armenian armed forces, expressed sincere regret at the deaths of soldiers and civilians during provocation and condolences to the families of the victims.
