Pompeo: China is repeating some mistakes of USSR

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said he believes the United States will win the confrontation with China, Report says.

“I believe that we can do it. I have faith because we have done this before. I believe because the Chinese Communist Party is repeating some of the same mistakes that the Soviet Union made,” he said

As Pompeo noted, such mistakes are “alienating potential allies, eroding trust at home and abroad, abandoning property rights and the predictable rule of law

Moreover, Pompeo said China’s situation differs from that of the USSR, as the PRC is deeply integrated into the world economy.

Earlier, the US Secretary of State stressed the importance of creating a new format alliance against China and added the previous system of interaction between the United States and the PRC had collapsed.
