Number of taxpayers exceeds 1.2 million in Azerbaijan

As of March 1, 2021, out of 1,231,572 taxpayers registered in Azerbaijan, 87.7% were individuals, 12.3% were legal entities and other organizations, Report informs with reference to the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy.

Compared to the same period last year, the total number of taxpayers increased by 161,080 (115.1%). According to the ministry, individuals accounted for 94.5% of the increase, while legal entities made the remaining 5.5%.

The number of taxpayers registered as legal entities increased mainly at the expense of commercial organizations. Over the same period, the number of commercial organizations increased by 6.8%.

As of March 1, 2021, the number of registered legal entities under public law is 270.

134 commercial legal entities with foreign investment were registered from January through February this year, of which 32.1% operate in trade, 27.6% in services, 10.4% in construction, 29.9% are involved in other business activities.
